Moon hare - Original painting
‘Maulkin’ - Moon hare✨
Original painting - Indian inks, watercolour
As I was driving through the Dorset countryside one evening, I saw a hare lying in the road. He had been hit by a car and hadn’t made it.
It broke my heart and brought tears to my eyes.
There’s something so magical about hares .. something ethereal and ancient.
I came straight home and painted this little memorial for him, this incredible little creature.
The moon was a waxing crescent … his moon, now forever. 🌙✨
Sleep soundly little guy x
